The Central American EUDR Learning Community is a collaborative platform created to strengthen regional understanding and readiness for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
It brings together governmental institutions, private companies, service providers, and experts from across Central America to share knowledge, tools, and experiences that support deforestation-free and legally compliant supply chains in the coffee sector.
The community currently includes 368 member organisations across 24 countries working towards a common goal of sustainable and transparent trade ahead of the EUDR coming into force.
Through regular online and in person events, technical exchanges members explore topics such as legality, traceability, deforestation monitoring, risk mapping, and farm registries, and work together on shared solutions like the Deforestation-Free Trade Gateway (DFTG).

The community promotes shared governance models, open-access traceability systems, deforestation risk analysis and farm registration tools, and inclusive collaboration to ensure that progress towards EUDR compliance is coordinated, efficient, and accessible for all actors in the value chain.
The initiative is funded by the GIZ Global Gateway program, led by PROMECAFÉ, with GIZ and COSA as coordination and technical support. The Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT), has also supported the community’s events and outreach efforts.
Together, these partners are fostering a space where practitioners can connect, learn, clarify EUDR requirements, and co-develop regional approaches to achieving sustainable, deforestation-free trade.
