{"id":1005,"date":"2025-11-03T23:46:25","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T23:46:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/?page_id=1005"},"modified":"2025-11-04T10:33:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T10:33:22","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/en\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><b>About the Central American EUDR Learning Community<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Central American EUDR Learning Community is a collaborative platform created to strengthen regional understanding and readiness for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/forests\/deforestation\/regulation-deforestation-free-products_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EU Deforestation Regulation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (EUDR).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It brings together governmental institutions, private companies, service providers, and experts from across Central America to share knowledge, tools, and experiences that support deforestation-free and legally compliant supply chains in the coffee sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The community currently includes 368 member organisations across 24 countries working towards a common goal of sustainable and transparent trade ahead of the EUDR coming into force.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through regular online and in person events, technical exchanges members explore topics such as legality, traceability, deforestation monitoring, risk mapping, and farm registries, and work together on shared solutions like the Deforestation-Free Trade Gateway (DFTG).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1006 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community--1024x580.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community--1024x580.png 1024w, https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community--300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community--768x435.png 768w, https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community--1536x869.png 1536w, https:\/\/eudrcentralamerica.thecosa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/About-Central-American-EUDR-learning-community-.png 1636w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The community promotes shared governance models, open-access traceability systems, deforestation risk analysis and farm registration tools, and inclusive collaboration to ensure that progress towards EUDR compliance is coordinated, efficient, and accessible for all actors in the value chain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative is funded by the GIZ Global Gateway program, led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/promocafe.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PROMECAF\u00c9<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.giz.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GIZ<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and COSA as coordination and technical support.
